Hobo
Introduction to Hobo
SeethingSwarm created Hobo in 2008 and Armor Games released it. This side-scrolling brawler drops you on grimy sidewalks with a scruffy wanderer. Arrow keys move him left and right. One button lands a punch and the other hooks in a kick. You pick up junk on the street to swing at enemies. Each landed hit teaches a nasty move like spitting or other crude tricks. Finding food scraps returns lost health and checkpoints record progress.
Hobo opens with a rough shove out of a shelter. He charges a cop. Then he tackles an irate pedestrian. Later a hulking brawler steps in to test his mettle. Short cutscenes give tiny bursts of story. Then you fight again. The whole thing feels absurd and sticks to slapstick violence.
The game runs solo. It shows simple flat art and cartoon style. Each new area pushes difficulty higher. Enemies strike faster in later stages. Executing hit combos reveals fresh attacks. Later chapters expand with broader streets and stranger opponents.
