Battle of Britain
About Battle of Britain
Battle of Britain drops pilots into the 1940 air war above southern England. The game uses detailed flight physics and a damage system. The system alters aircraft performance during combat. Pilots handle authentic fighters and bombers used by British, German and Italian forces.
Every sortie challenges a pilot in aerial duels, bomber interceptions or ground assault runs. A mission might thrust a pilot into close air combat near the coast. Escort runs send bomber formations across the Channel. Ground attack sorties target enemy positions. Pilots face flak fire on those runs. The map covers southern England and northern France. It shows airfields, cities such as London and coastal zones. Dynamic weather shifts influence visibility and wind.
Multiplayer lets dozens of pilots join the same battle over a network. A mission editor gives users tools to build and share custom scenarios. Each aircraft model mirrors real world specs from 1940. The Supermarine Spitfire Mk I, Hawker Hurricane Mk I and Messerschmitt Bf 109 E appear in the roster. Interactive cockpits display functional gauges and moving parts. Pilots adjust engine controls, manage fuel mixture and shift supercharger settings. The game recreates phases of the Battle of Britain. It follows Kanalkampf, Eagle Attack and the Blitz.
