The story mode opens with chaos in Bikini Bottom. A giant metal robot spreads panic across town and local officers cannot stop it. Then Boyfriend arrives ready to face the threat. The showdown unfolds to the beat of Nuts and Bolts and Boyfriend races against Robot Sandy. Muscle meets melody in this epic face off.

Freeplay adds five extra songs beyond the main challenge. A track called On Ice sends SpongeBob against Nat Peterson. Another challenge pits Doodlebob in Doodle Duel. Plan Z puts King Neptune in the spotlight. In Song P, SpongeBob and Boyfriend trade verses. The finale in Scrapped Metal has Boyfriend face Robo-Squidward.
